In the news today, I hear reports that kids have access to a fast knowledge of information via the internet, but kids knowledge about today's world is very shallow. Information overload!
To me everybody wants to learn about everything their is to learn. I want to learn about everything I can learn that is useful to me, even if it is not useful to me it is good just to know things that you don't already know. But is asking for to much information about so many different topics bad?
Why not just stick to one subject and broaden your horizons there, but your worldly horizons will be very limited. Why be the Jack of all trades when you can be King of one? In today's world people have to be versatile and be able to adapt to any situation they are given. So, a lot of people want to know about a lot of things so they can talk about them, or a least understand what somebody is saying when it is being talked about.
So, my point is kids having a knowledge about bits here and there can be an advantage at some situations in life but it can be a very big disadvantages when that is all they know are bits and pieces and not the whole picture. Life's a challenge. Challenge YOUR Life! Make knowledge work for you not against you. Learn the most vaulable things for survival in today's world and everything else let it come to you as you encounter it in everyday life.
